For Gravity SMTP to send messages from your SparkPost account, you will need to provide the plugin with a SparkPost API key. You must complete this step before configuring the SparkPost Integration within Gravity SMTP. This article outlines steps for generating a new API key in your SparkPost account.

Generating a New API Key
- Log in to your SparkPost account.
- Go to Configuration > API keys.
- Click the Create API Key button to start the process.
- Give your API key a descriptive name (e.g., “Gravity SMTP Integration”).
- Set Permissions. Choose the permissions your API key needs.
Although there are security benefits to restricting your SparkPost API permissions, we don’t recommend doing so. - Once you’ve set the name and permissions, click Create API Key to finalize and generate your key.
- Copy and save your API key, as it will connect the Gravity SMTP plugin to your SparkPost account. Once you close this window, you cannot retrieve it.
Note: Allowed IPs Feature: If you use SparkPost’s “Allowed IPs” option, ensure your hosting service lets you control the outgoing IP address for API calls. Even with “dedicated IP” plans, some providers don’t offer this flexibility—double-check before enabling this feature.
Provided that you have added and verified a domain, you are now ready to configure your SparkPost Integration settings within Gravity SMTP.
