Introduction
Adding verified senders from within your SMTP2GO account is required to prove ownership of the domain from which outgoing messages will be sent. You must complete this step before configuring the SMTP2GO Integration in Gravity SMTP.
Refer to Verified Senders from SMTP2GO official documentation for more info and related articles.
Adding a New Verified Sender Domain
- Navigate to Sending > Verified Senders > Sender domains page in your SMTP2GO App.
- In the Sender domains section, click Add sender domain.
Enter your domain in the textbox and click Continue with this domain.
After adding the domain, it will be listed as Not Authenticated.
Adding DNS Records
To verify ownership of your domain and enable the use of this domain with SMTP2GO, you will need to add multiple DNS records for the domain you have just added. SMTP2GO will run verification against these DNS records. Your next step is to visit your DNS provider for the domain and add each DNS record provided by SMTP2GO.
Refer to setup guides for popular DNS providers.
CNAME (Canonical Name) records map an alias name to a true or canonical domain name. They’re used to link a subdomain to another domain name, allowing requests made to the alias to be routed to the correct server or site.
Type | Hostname | Value/Target Name | TTL |
---|---|---|---|
CNAME | unique-name | return.smtp2go.net | 3600 |
CNAME | unique-name_domainkey | dkim. | 3600 |
CNAME | link.hostname | track. | 3600 |
How do I know the domain is verified and is working?
It will show as Verified under Status on your Verified Senders page.
Adding a New Verified Single Sender Email
Note: Only use this option to verify a sender email if you cannot modify your domain’s DNS settings. If your email domain has a DMARC policy restricting email servers, you won’t be able to add it this way and will need to verify the domain instead.
- Navigate to Sending > Verified Senders > Single sender emails in your SMTP2GO App.
For each Single Sender Email, you’ll receive a confirmation email from ticket@smtp2go.com.
